What did you do to your rig Today? V2.0

Well...planned on dragging this out but got on a roll tonight. Got it all buttoned up. Threw some cheap coolant in it and took it for a spin. When I take it out to dads to charge the ac I’ll flush it again and change the coolant. So weird without the exhaust leak and power steering whine. I also put new brushes in the alternator while i was in there. Great voltage now and no more gauge jump when I hear boom from the amplifiers.

maybe for my next project I’ll remove the rear abs bulb.

Yeah, I have always run white letters out on my BFG's but unfortunately it isn't an option on these. The blue and red would have been a super nice touch too lol!

Now I am playing the waiting game for the wheels to come back into stock that I want :(

Today was maintenance day. Started with wipers, oil change and tire rotation on the old yukon.

Then I dropped the skids on the jeep to change the oil in it. I happened to grab the rear driveshaft and seemed like it had a lot of movement at the tcase yoke. I dropped the driveshaft to check the nut. I'm not going to say it was finger tight, but the weight of the handle of my long ratchet turned it...

Removed and reinstalled with locktite. Potential disaster averted.

Then changed collector gaskets from these Chinesium junk ones. It seems a lot happier without exhaust leaks.

Looks like you had outstanding help!

Finally installed the new steering pump on the CJ. Re-made the low pressure lines to/from the cooler. Got everything in place and put some fluid in it…

Still need to bleed the system and check the fittings one more time and clean a ton of spilled fluid off.

I tried to get all of the old fluid out of the system because the amount of metal I found in the pump definitely makes me think something internal failed.

Well I found out the rear gears are howling in these axles….yay! Anyone have a go to for ring and pinion installs that aren’t backed up for a month plus?
