I have seen things similar before, looks like he took an existing idea and modified it. Simliar to the figure 9 rope tensioner. Looks pretty cool, but unless I did a lot of rigging dont think I would use it much.

Yeah I thought I had seen a product like it before... I'm sure it would be good to use for Boy Scouts or really primitive camping, but my type of camping I doubt I would use it either.

I've used these before. After the initial complaining of the price, they are quite handy. Used one to tarp my Uncles super-fancy outdoor table. Put one of these on it to make his life easy. I've thought about getting a few more of these but I always use ratchet straps in the back of my rig so I wouldn't use them. However if you like to run a rope between two trees and setup a tarp, these would be quite handy.

I'll do it, but I'm expensive and will probably lose some bolts
