My new change of pace

#22
I went down Saturday and we signed a lease on a house to rent that we plan on staying in for awhile. Ended up working out great and being a lot better place to live then anything else we'd seen. It could end up being a place we buy in a few years but not trying to jump the gun yet. It has a garage/basement that's pretty huge as well as a large carport and huge yard for Henry to graze in.

Swung by the shop to drop some tools off and some steel I had. He just bought a 56 Chevrolet wagon that is getting a joe gibbs prepped supercharged 5.3 from an avalanche as his new daily driver/parts hauler. Saw a video of the avalanche the motor came out of doing a burnout in over drive so it should be a fun car when it's done. Have a late 40s car we'll be chopping, slamming and putting a coyote motor In which will be first time he's done one of those motors.

My last day at current tools is Thursday and I'll be moving out of Greenville Friday and to Atlanta Saturday morning and start work Monday so I'm super jacked about it.

Started work last week and posted a few pics of what I've done so far but figured I'd throw some up here
Truck before in middle of tear down

Now looks like this. In the middle of building the bed for it when we found out the cabs gonna need to be replaced.

I was lucky enough to take a class today in Alabama showing some tips and tricks using a pullmax machine by a guy named Per or metalman Sweden. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1381211704.885739.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1381211712.475860.jpg

While we were there we got to check out this guys shop who has 2 eckold power shrinker/stretchers that are both pretty bad *** machines. He had an example of him a piece of 10gauge armor steel he had shrunk which was pretty incredible ImageUploadedByTapatalk1381211814.072132.jpg

Not in our shop but a guy I met and who is good friends with the guy I work for/with, I saw this rolls Royce he's building a woodie phantom out of. Pretty incredible car that he's been working on for years. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1381211907.532107.jpg

I'm a sucker for old Porsche and saw this 82 911 sc and had to snap a picture. I'd like to get into an early 911 or 365 one day ImageUploadedByTapatalk1381211969.180755.jpg

The wedding day is counting down fast, once we get settled and normal life back I'm picking up a project car to work on. Will be an after hours build but something to drive for a little bit and sell. I've wanted something low and loud that will roll the tires off easily for a long time.

Haha I want to keep my jeep though and I'm looking to do some flipping to gain some cash and get some experience doing a few things like a chop and laying the rear window back.

The truck had over 3/8" bondo in places that was all covering up rust and cancer. In 20 yrs the blaster said he'd never seen anything as bad or covered up. It looked good painted but was crap underneath.

Been messing with the 36 lately. Sanded down the entire car and a lot of the body line ended up being bondo so we redid it.

We got 2 surface plates from a nascar shop that closed down. Both 8'x18'. I've welded the skirts on and leveled it out since the picture.

Had the first 4x4 in the shop since I've been there ImageUploadedByTapatalk1382927775.831678.jpg

Also got a '40 Packard the other day that's gonna be a fun chop project. Been in the same family since new and has been in storage since the 50s I think. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1382927868.455361.jpg

Yes and no, a lot of this industry is what the customer is willing to pay for. The amount of time and $$ it would cost to fix the rot on that cab, you could buy 10 perfect cabs. We ended up buying a different cab that was in better condition, but havent messed with the truck in a while. Trying to get a few other things done before i get back on it.

Good eye. It's a '56 handyman wagon that's going to be the "shop truck" the 20" steelies are going on it. Has a supercharged 5.3 in it. Put the motor in and did a few other things to it but it's been sitting for awhile as it's an after hours beer drinking build and we've been busy with customer stuff.

Cool pics and projects Steve. I'll have to enjoy your pictures this winter I guess b/c I am too broke to start any sort of winter project this year. Maybe if the rzr sells for good money I will get started on the Camaro...

Just curious, do ya'll have any kind of line/hook up on a 6.0 or a T-56 6 speed? Or a Tremec 6 speed for a Chevy?

Gotten a lot of work on the beltline and interior of this car done. Ready to get it done and go on to working on the truck again. This car has had every panel on it remade almost. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383774803.932081.jpg

This is a 1940 Packard 110. 1 family has owned it since new. It's going to be a fun project that will likely get stripped and started to get chopped beginning of the year. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383774938.181961.jpg

Did some bracing on a Chevelle frame. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383775030.893624.jpg

Went to Macon today to pick this up. It was at a place that looked like something off the walking dead. Old abandoned industrial park. Buildings with windows busted out and the 15' fence had electrical wire going all over it with razor wire. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383775146.598428.jpg
Don't have a lift yet and was alone so I had to unload it myself. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1383775183.630533.jpg

Stripped the Packard down awhile back to go to the blaster. Frame on it is cool as hell looking and every piece of it is solid as can be.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1388802403.270183.jpg

Modified a welding cart for our dynasty.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1388802492.854159.jpg

Got in these sweet new misalignment spacers that came in on a car.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1388802543.253153.jpg

Had to repair some rust in the trunk of a plymouth.
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1388802606.832485.jpg

Built some tubs for a chevelle that's gonna have some wide *** tires.

Bead rolled a K up for my parents and did a little rust patina on it
ImageUploadedByTapatalk1388802861.050370.jpg

Been wanting some anti fatigue mats for around our 2 tables, ended up finding about 1500sqft worth of hard plastic tile that race car guys use to make a pit in grass and what not. It's awesome.

Haven't really updated in awhile. I post up on Instagram sometimes but usually bossman posts the good stuff. I just deleted a lot of pics off my phone so I don't really have much new

Spent about 3 weeks on the pickup and it's turning out badass. I'll have to get a pic of how it sits now but it's gonna be killer once it's done.

2" out the top 1" out the windows, 2" out the bed and frame. 53 buick headlights, 2 bars added to grill, the rear tail lights and both bumpers are in the making.
