I am no longer the odd ball in the group, I have finally found a jeep that fits my needs and my pocket. :) Well we will see about the pocket lol. Hope to have it on the trails soon. Plans for upgrades are as follows a small lift to accommodate 31"AT/MT (still undecided),locker in the rear,winch and new front/rear bumpers. That's just the start of this soon to be addiction ;)

Nice! Unfortunately the parts cost a little more than you're used to and you can't work on it on the kitchen table :grin:.

The green xj I had was a '94. It worked well for what it was and what I had in it. What options does that one have? Manual windows, cruise control?

I'll have to check in the morning :) i do know it has ac, manual windows, cloth interior, and a rear wiper blade that will come in handy lmao Yea I'm really bummed out that I can't work on the kitchen table no ac outside lol

From what Brooks has told me you're looking to go the same direction, a good driver, expedition type rig. One thing I warn all new XJ owners of now (because I didn't do it) is to do frame stiffeners FIRST!. One of the first trips we went on was Greg and I went to Durhamtown. I beat on it pretty hard, Greg had to pull me out a couple times, once from a really bad angle, and after that day the doors didn't quite line up right...

Yea I recall a conversation we had before concerning that. I will make sure to order and install those before the first trail ride. Thumbs up!!!

Well I took it out to exit 33 today and I will say the jeep performed very well considering I had street tires on it ;) With the help of jeepman1979(Bill) and a few other friends we installed the Rough Country 3" lift, the MT's won't be in for another week :( But I'll just get those put on after OSCAR. Well guess it's about time for an update.
I, with the help of jeepman1979 have installed 33x12.5x15 on steelies from a fellow member sometime ago. We had to cut the sh.... out of the fenders 😝 to clear them. Installed front and rear tow points, also had to install a fuel tank due to my other one leaking as much as it used lol added a Yakima roof rack and led lights on the front. Almost forgot cb radio and bumpstop extensions up front and rear.

Also jeepman1979 has welded up some band aids to cover up some of the really bad rusted out non existent spots😛stiffened her up good. Oh and also have a floor pan now no more carpet hanging below the body.
Still have a lot to do next on the agenda is to change out the Dana 35 to a 8.8, change gears to 4.56 and add a front locker. Then a winch and .......... Well you know lol

That will be grinded off I promise lol honestly I will probably just let the brakes do the work. Really just wanted to cover the rusty look 😮
