ALTRDTJ build

#61
Motivation level has been at an all time low here the last month or so. Not much to report on really got my aluminum blanks in 2 weeks ago and it took me until today to commit and finally cut one up. Moving along slowly but surely. With bow season quickly approaching my focus will shift and ill pittle with the tj here and there. No real deadline, and its hot as two hells outside so itll get done when its done. Cheers guys and gals

So long overdue update but unfortunately not a ton to post up. Ive got the seat frame built and driver side seat installed. Started messing with the brakes somemore, getting the pushrod to the right length. Also sold my redlabels since im planning to drive it on the road a good bit and picked up a set of 5 maxxis razrs in 40x13.50r17. Also have been working with my buddy zach savage on this JT doing full king coilover conversion and added some 4Ds as well.

Id say i had a successful day in the garage, 1st time in awhile thats happened. My dad came up and helped get the beadlocks mounted up and i plugged away the rest of the day on getting it the rear coilovers back in and off the jack stands completely! Balanced out the tires with 12 oz of BBs (walmart aparently doesnt sell airsoft stuff anymore?) I ordered new coilover springs for the rear because it sat way to high and the springs were crazy short (these springs were from when i was figuring out what the coilover life was all about. Over all a great day. Slowing gaining back motivation from a craphole of a year 2020 was. Shooting to be ridingat windrock next month! Cheers šŸ»

A few things to report on this weekend. My dad came up and helped me get a few items knocked off the list. Got my fuel cell mounted, pulled the transmission pan and replaced the filter and leaking seal. Installed and wired in some marker lights. Also refuse to pay for the motobilt front tub armor so i made a template to cut my own. Ran out of welding gas so that put a damper on getting the passnger seats mounted. Had some new parts come in this past week as well! New rear driveshaft from adams and mevotek front hub assemblies

Started back on the cage tonight. Hoping to button it up this weekend. When notching tube i do have a tube notcher BUT... i prefer to use an 80 grit flap wheel, takes a little longer but i can really hone in on the fit and slowly or quickly take material away.

how much tube did you end up using for this one? you only reused the main hoop correct?
Correct only the b piller remained from the factory cage. I so far have used almost 4 sticks. Had a tiny bit of waste at the beginning but was able to use it later on in the cage build. After frame tie ins and all itll have 4 sticks in it so around 110 foot of tubing

I went back and added up everything i drew in bendtech and measured all my straight tubes and ive used 100 foot so far including my shock hoops. I still need to finish my the X brace below the harness bar and bend up a grill hoop, shock hoop spreader and some sort of tube fender. I think ill have to buy 1 more stick of tube as i only have 18 foot left.
