My brother contacted me yesterday and said that his Bronco order may take years to be filled so he has started looking at 4 door Wranglers. He asked me about the engines. It appears there are 4 engine options for it.
  • 3.6L V6 24V VVT Engine with Start Stop
  • 2.0L I4 DOHC DI Turbo Engine with Start Stop
  • 3.0L V6 Turbo Diesel Engine with Start Stop
  • 3.6L V6 24V VVT eTorque Engine
Wondering what experiences and/or knowledge you guys may have on the different engines. Preferences for one over another or known reasons to avoid any of them. Thank you for your time.

There is also the Hybrid 4xe.

Bill and Lolli have the 2.0 Turbo and love it, they just bought another one recently.

I have the 3.0 Diesel in my Gladiator and love it. Now that they switched back to summer fuel I'm back up in the 28mpg range on the highway and it has power and torque for days. Over the winter I averaged around 26.

I don't know much about the 3.6 vs the 3.6 eTorque.

3.6 is the tried and true choice, but I've heard good things about the 2.0. If I was considering a 2.0 I'd have to look real hard at the 4xe. Unless you're just anti electric, the 4xe seems like a no brainer. With the $7500 fed rebate depending on options it wouldn't cost much more.
