Why Do I Need a GMRS License & How Do I Get It?

Ok, Here is my official Recommendations for radios that can be purchased from Amazon (4/16/19).

This is a Dual Band Radio, It can be used for Ham, GMRS, MURS or Business Band as its Part 90 Listed, It is also VHF and UHF Meaning you can use it to monitor WX frequencies, (marine), etc. The construction of this radio is very high quality and rugged. This gives you the most flexibility, it is however 95$

This is the same unit, just in not a dual band, it is only UHF, so no weather, murs or marine.

These are also DMR - Digital capable radios, if you do ever get your ham license you would be able to access the statewide and global radio systems.

If anyone purchases these radios, i will write and publish a code plug that can easily be written to these radios (no programming skills needed). These radios are very user friendly and feature zones, etc. Im also working on putting together an official "Codeplug" With Frequencies and Channels we (ORSC and MCJ) can use to all be on the same page.

I can make recommendations for antennas and cables if anyone is interested.

I can also point anyone interested at quality used radios that are typically reasonably priced.
