Lets start a debate about driving ability/skill: finesse vs speed/bouncing

IMO, it takes more skill to crawl a hill than bounce it. But the rev limiter is a lot of fun. So, I normally try it slow once. Then skinny pedal.

I honestly thought when I quit boozing heavily on the trail the skinny pedal would get used less... that is not the case. I just use it more appropriately. I don't get a running start on 3D anymore these days. That poor 4runner......

Every situation is different especially if we are talking about a race/comp as well as the type of terrain.

IMO. Just general wheeling, a smooth run can seem to be more impressive than a beat and bang run. While a throttle jockey run may be more exciting to watch than a methodical finesse run.
 
finesse breaks less parts. Those hill killers will wad there ish up for a crowd. If I had the keys to one my mind may be different but damn that's an expensive hard on.
