COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) -

Shots have been fired on the campus on the University of South Carolina.

A campus-wide alert was sent to students at about 1:20 p.m. Thursday afternoon. Students, staff and faculty are warned to seek shelter immediately.

The CarolinaAlert says shots were fired at the Newschool of Public Health.

WIS has a team headed to the area and is working to get more information.

We have been informed that USC has issued an all clear.

SLED says the shooting was a murder-suicide. SLED spokesperson Thom Berry says the shooting appears to be an isolated incident.
