So we don't have a CB. what suggestions can I get for the purchase of one prior to this ride.

I'm not a cb pro like some of our members, but to me your budget will dictate what you buy. This place has a pretty complete kit for jeeps, but I think you could put together a cheaper kit from a truckstop. Do you have any preferences to size or where you want to mount it? Do you plan to leave it in the jeep all the time?
