I am heading back from Florida with my stepdads 1991 Wrangler. I remember when he bought it new and he was done with it and i am taking it home. Its a 4 cyl and only has 74K miles on it. So i am driving it back 9 hours to home. He hasnt been that up to date on maintenance. LAtely he did a new battery, fuel pump, plugs. Already at his palce i replaced the serpentine belt, changed the oil and did a general looksy. The AX5 has very worn synchros but it has been like that for years. He put synthetic in the tranny about 5 years ago. It shifts fine but down shifting will grind. I drove it 60 miles yesterday to bring it to the hotel in my old town north of my parents and already i had a caliper seize on me. I got it swapped out last night. So we will get on our way today and coming home. Need some good vibe to the Jeep gods to let us get home with little problems.
