Hard Top refresh project

Miller graciously grabbed this top from the dump for me and i still can't believe someone tossed this. It was crazy dirty but cleaned her up as best I could while on the jeep. New seals, hinges, windshield liner are on the way. Once it warms up I'll be bedlining it with mosntaliner in their "spice" color. PXL_20240221_232441680.jpg

Is your interior spice? you could eventually swap your half doors to match the second to the right, thats similar to the tan color that jeep offered in the 2000s.

This is called Dark Tan, and looks like it would match one of your swatches.

Yeah my interior is spice. I also wonder if I got newer non smittybuilt uppers if the spice would match better. I am also just playing with the idea of going just black to avoid all this matching....but I really like tan tops...

Alright some progress has been made. New gaskets on the bottom sides and the windshield header gasket installed(It was completely missing).

My order of monstaliner in the spice color arrived. If I don't like the way it looks with my current spice colored soft upper I will be switching to them to some black uppers.

Last person who had this had put this giant hole near the front and just filled it with silicone and it was a mess.

Bondo to the rescue.

First time using it and I'm not to mad about it. Since its being covered in a bedliner like material I just needed the hole to be gone.

Now that all is left to do is clean it down with acetone and tape off all the windows...and have about 3 hours to get the monstaliner product painted.

Finished painting this afternoon! I got the 1 gallon kit and everything I read said it was good for either and entire interior Jeep tub or the top. Didn't realize they meant the inside of the top as well and....I aint messing with that. Decided to paint the "trunk" area and I still have plenty left. I'll get the black kit to do the rest of the tub another time. Was really impressed with the product and just waiting for it to dry so I can put it back on the TJ. We are all bolted up. Had to touch up a few spots where the soft doors mount up so I'll check that color match later this week. Might swap my uppers for a gloss black that would match my armor. Really like the Monstaliner and kind of want to do the whole jeep now...The paint on her in some places is a tad faded and I still need to clean up the window lining. Very happy with the outcome and extreme grateful for Miller grabbing this outta the dump for me!
