TJ Little to no heat

#1
So, Drove the jeep to work today...I dont know why...

Im getting little to no heat in the jeep. I haven't done any real trouble shooting yet other than verifying that the blend door seems to be moving..

I plan to grab the heater hoses after i get home tonight and see if they are warm. Any other ideas?

I guess this is karma for being spoiled with a heated steering wheel for the past couple weeks...

Heater core clogged inside so water can't circulate through it?

Do you have plenty of air flow coming thru the vents?

Blend door would be another guess but you say it seems to be moving.

Honestly haven't lifted the hood to look, but in not sure the TJs have a valve.
Don't think they do, coolant flows through heater core all the time. Assuming your engine was up to temp (thermostat not stuck open), it's probably time for a heater core. Good thing you don't have a cage through your dash ;).

As i was searching the interwebs, one link was back here to Skerbs post (2011) about a heater core.. Guess its time to order some parts... I wonder if i could go ahead a stick a ac condenser in while i have it apart.. for "future" use..

Just take the hoses loose and run some water through it? Any chemical additive?
They make all kinds of flush solutions, I have no experience with any of it. Might want to ask Miller. I would start with just water flushing the opposite direction of normal flow and see what comes out.

you could cook bacon in my jeep it gets so hot with the heat on. I do however get the occasional hint of pancakes....So i know its only a matter of time. Would like to do the heater core and cage kit at the same time.....or sell it #knowdat

I just disconnected the hoses at the firewall and held a hose with no sprayer up tight against one of the ports. It blasts out all kinds of nasty.

Do the A/C core while you have the box out. It's a NO-FUN job so do whatever you can while you have it all apart. My "party" took 5-7 hours. Split it into 2 afternoons, so I didn't breakdown crying or bust the windshield. Remain calm.....
