Cleaning up at the Homestead

Our family home is for sale and the property and out buildings are full of "stuff". Some is sentimental, some may be valuable, but a lot is junk.

The first step today was to load our scrap steel dumpster (aka a mid 90s camaro shell)

It's been sitting here 15+ years. Dad hid it behind a building because he didn't tell mom he bought a parts car to go along with the one she knew about.

We also cleared out in front of a shed to be able to pull out an old boat that we'll hopefully get to tomorrow.

Looks like a good start to an LS drag car.....
I think that was the original plan. Somewhere around 2004/5 he bought 2 identical looking cars. This one was a 6cyl, the other an LT1 Z28. At one point he wanted to make the z28 a driver and this one an all out race car. The z28 was rebuilt and stroked to 383 and driven a little, but he never really played with it. The fenders on the z28 are cracked so we're going to pull these and scrap the rest.

Following for cool finds...
We got rained out yesterday (and I hurt my back). The items I know we're pulling out are 2 OLD outboard motors, a mid 70s KTM dirt bike, some farm equipment, a 400 short block and various sb chevy parts...

There's also some furniture and old pictures in the house that will come out.

the shell looks to be in good condition, is it not worth selling?
It's in worse shape than it looks. Both doors skins have separated from the structure, there's some rust in the core support, it has a fuel pump access hole cut in the floor, and it was just a 6cyl auto base model car.

The weather cooperated and we made some progress this afternoon.

We got the boat out

And drug it across the road to its new home. It will now be know as the West Wind deer stand.

We're going to try to get back down there this weekend and pull the motor and controls. It's still free and has good compression.

This was DJ's and my second dirtbike. When he was 5 years old he got a 50. 4 years or so later I got the 50 and he got this KDX 80. When he outgrew it he got dad's KDX200 and I got this one.

I dont know the story behind these but a couple old outboards, one on a transport or display stand.

Couple old transmissions. From the numbers I could find they're light duty 3 speeds from late 40s-early 50s Ford. Have no idea where they came from, as Dad and my Granddad were strict GM.

Slicks (with screws for bead locks) my Dad used to run on the 68 Camaro. He sold that car a few months after I was born (1984)

Bars for mule drawn implements. Apparently there a more of these around somewhere.

Pile of window weights.

At one point, members of our extended family owned the funeral home and a casket company in town. The funeral home still exists and is in my Great Great Uncle's (I think that's that's right number of greats) home. The casket company is long gone but several walls in these outbuildings were built from casket crates.

Wood Pile has beams from a building that was torn down, random wood, pieces of the white picket fence that used to surround the house. All of the original windows from the house are here too.
20210205_160709.jpg

Random farm things. Piles of plow tines, etc.
20210205_160744.jpg

There's also an old house trailer that was storage.
The model is not in the box :(
