This is for anyone wondering what the new 3.6 looks like under the hood without the big plastic cover over everything. Hopefully oil changes will be a little easier since the filter is on top now.

Yeah, about all the automakers are using plastic now. The block is aluminum with cylinder inserts exhaust manifolds are incorporated into the heads. Google 3.6 Pentastar and check out the allpar website and they give a pretty good write up on the motor. I can say that so far I am happy with all 500 miles I've put on my new jeep.

They are reliable as far as I can see. We have a few vehicles with them at work.

Good to hear about reliability, cause part of the deal with my wife when I got this one is I have to keep it for at least 10 years.
