April 2025 - Texas Casita Escapades

#1
Saturday we hit the road in the morning and drove all day. We ended up at our Airbnb in Meridian, MS. Cute little house on some land. It was quite and had some land to walk the dogs.

Sunday we drove to Texas. We crossed over the Mississippi river and stopped for some pics. Made it to our Airbnb that afternoon. A cute little tiny home on a farm with a pond.

Monday was the day we were waiting for! We did a quick breakfast and walked the dogs before headed to Rice, TX to pick up the Casita. After getting the WD hitch fitted we headed out to a park and did lunch. They had a bunch of cool old trucks as part of the play ground. We took some dog pics.

Tuesday we woke up at American RV Park near the Casita Factory. It was where most people that buy a casita spend their first night. We were there with 5 of the pick ups from Monday with us. We left that morning and headed to our campsite in Glen Rose, TX right on the Paluxy River. We hung out in the water and made dinner that afternoon.

Wednesday we headed a few minutes down the road to Dinosaur Valley state park to wander around the river and look at the Dinosaur Tracks. There are multiple areas where you can see them. One of them is called the Ball Room where there are tracks all over the place and it looks like they were either fighting or dancing in the mud a million years ago.
After we left that we ventured through Hill country and had dinner in Fredricksburg at Altdorf Biergarten, and the food and outdoor patio was great! https://maps.app.goo.gl/ySrQyLAichKSYoJaA
Then headed to camp at Guadalupe River State park in the evening to setup.

Friday we explored Pedernales Falls State park and did some hiking. Then we set out on the drive back to SC. We stopped in Tyler Texas Friday night and then Birmingham Saturday Night at hip camp sites. The Birmingham site was pretty awesome right on a pond with loads of space all to yourself.
