What’s the story on these?

Can't really go wrong with a 4.0 Ranger. They're tough. The camper part, I know nothing about.

The only thing drivetrain related I know to look out for is in the SOHC 4.0, there can be timing chain tensioner issues. At that mileage, it should be fine.

Is there much after market support for these like lockers and bumpers and armor?
Rear is an 8.8. Unless it's an FX4 model it's 28 spline instead of the 31 spline everyone gets out of explorers. There's still support though, or it could be swapped for a 31 spline. Explorer axle is 1" wider too.

Front is an ifs dana 35. It's strong enough as long as you don't go crazy.

Good many bumper options. Sliders there are some specific ones or the universal trail gear kit.
