Cold a/c

Our liberty has "cool" AC. but after getting the JK we realized how NOT cold it was. I picked up a charging kit because I figured it was just low. When i put the gauge on it it showed that it was already full and up to pressure. So being that it is not low, what would cause the AC to not blow really cold? The compressor cuts on and off and it seems to work ok, but not like it has or could.

I would have it hooked up to a legit set of gauges and see what it reads. Those re-charge kits are a joke.

Real gauges. Lack of cooling can be that it is over filled, under filled, or something could be plugged up.

I wish they would stop marketing these do it yourself charging kits. They do more damage and cause more problems than any other product.

Turn the ac on and run the engine about road speed rpm, ensure there is adequate air flow across the condenser coil (hood up, maybe supplement with an electric fan) set the dash fan control on med to high speed, then feel the suction (return) line between the firewall and the compressor. If it is cold, the problem maybe with the heat/cool mixing door under the dash. It would be reheating the air after it was cooled if the heat door is not sealing properly. Also running the ac on recirculated air may help. Other than this check, read the previous posts. Good luck.
