    Glendale Shoals Recon G6 - June 29th, 2014

    Sunday June 29Th, 2014 / Driver's Meeting @ 9:00AM!

There will be a 5$ entry Per class, this will include your
    lunch!

This Event will be located in Spartanburg, SC at the Glendale Shoals Preserve off of Emma Cudd & Country Club Road. 34.941781,-81.838814

We are proud to announce that the Carolina Scale Crawlers will be hosting a Recon G6 & KOH in honor of it being formed! We will being running a full day event with tons of driving time and extremely fun mandatory & voluntary challenges throughout the day. On top of that we are planning to run a King of Hammers race after the G6'n is done! Usually we do Lil Caesar's pizza since it is so close, we will have a lunch break around 12:30. We are looking at roughly 100 gate course that ranges from 45-90 minutes of driving time. We will be running besides a rather large creek with several water crossings or gates, nothing over the wheel hubs of course . Waterproofing & Winches are strongly recommended but are not mandatory! I would definitely recommend to have a tow rope of some sort to use for yourself or another vehicle for recovery! There will be absolutely NO HOG or self assist UNLESS it is your winch or from someone else. After the G6'n we will do a King of Hammers race. This will also be featuring an Unlimited class for the go fast stuff out there!

Things to Bring - Bug Spray, Drinks, Extra Batteries, Tow Rope, Folding Chair, Camera's!

Should you cause problems for others, you may be asked to leave. We're trying to keep this fun, and we don't want anyone to ruin it for others. In short, don't be an *** or throw a temper tantrum, and we'll all be fine. This is a family event, and there will be kids there, so make sure yours are under control as well. This is Public property, everything we bring in goes with us when we leave! Being that said, please be aware there are several slick/dangerous area for kids and event adults, please keep control of your kids and even yourself.

If there are any other questions or concerns about the location or places to stay please feel free to contact me via PM, I will be more than happy to help out!

Please post up what classes you plan to enter!

Hey Robert, Can you explain here how a G6 works compared to the typical SORRCA style events we have been having.

Yeah man of course, here is the rundown! A Recon G6 consist of many gates (100+) with several voluntary & mandatory driver challenges roughly every 20 gates or so. You we be running with 4-6 individuals at a time, all being in the same class. You can choose to run ahead and try and go for the fastest time or hangout with your buddies and go for the low score, it is your choice! There will be 2 or 3 mandatory challenges, one example would be a log pull in loose sand through a 10ft stretch. You will gain bonus points on the side for completion/attempt of these challenges. The Voluntary challenges may be 3-5 sketchy gates or a small water crossing of some sort, it is your choice. You will be carrying your own score sheet and marking as you go, be honest and remember it is just for fun! After we are done running the G6 we will run a KOH/Ultra4 style event, it will be 5 mins of racing your buddies around a homemade setup we have. You will count laps as you go and whoever is in the front takes the prize at the end of course.. We have tons of great sponsors/vendors on board for this, so with that being said there is some great prizes to be claimed! Please post up what class you will be attending and make sure to check out RCC for updated info. Thanks, hope to see some offroadsc people there.

how does the KOH work with the unlimited class? what if you choose to do the G6 but not enter the KOH, do you miss out on points? Are the podium places separate?

Yeah the points do not interfere with the G6 at all.. Gives someone an extra chance at winning another prize or a guy who just wants to go fast but not good at crawling. The unlimited is mainly just for laughs to see how they do compared to the scalers. A prize will be given for each class on the KOH and seperate prizes for the G6 stuff!

Do your buddies have usernames I could list them under. What classes will they be entering? Thanks man
