Spent the morning cutting out the floor and welding up holes and cracks. I also cut out the rust in 3 of the corners and welded in patch panels. It's really nice to work on with the body sandblasted.
I use a cut up chunk of brass from a tube bender, same concept, works well. Tig'n sheetmetal and thin stuff is much easier then mig as you can control your heat and heat effected zone.
So long over due update. I ended up cutting the tack welds that held the body to the frame, and I removed the body to fix some rust on the top of the frame. I spent yesterday throwing down a couple coats of primer with the HF HVLP paint gun. Turned out good. I hope to fix a few little areas friday and then put the tub back on the frame saturday with some help possibly.
anyone looking for an army trailer project? I picked up a trailer thats already assembled, and I'm looking to sell this project. It has been thoroughly sandblasted and primered. Ready for a new home. Its not currently assembled. PM me for more info.
Got this bad boy partially reassembled for its new home. With the baby and studying this fall, I needed a working trailer for a few things, and didnt have time to get this back together. Let us know what you do with it Mike!
