Poison Spyder hood Louver

Thinking about one of these. Anyone have any experience? I am mostly concerned about the long term affects of opening up the hood like this does. It allows a lot of water, and other elements into the engine bay...what about when hitting a water crossing where the water goes over the hood? It looks like it might relieve the negative pressure under the hood that helps keep water out of the intake... thoughts?

While I have no personal expierance with the poison spyder piece, I have used lebaron hood vents that you can find in most junkyards. I used the lebaron vents on a XJ that I had and can say that they did help with cooling, especially on hot days wheeling in Moab. Some guys fab drip trays that mount underneath the vents to move any water away from the engine, mainly the exhaust manifold and throttle body.
