Maybe this will help somebody get an idea of what's out there. Planned get-togethers or posting up some cool finds.

I'll be out there tomorrow at 10:00.

See if there is a 96 xj brake booster for me! ;)

XJ savage

Will do. Thought about upgrading to a ZJ or Durango booster? I've seen those out there by the dozens.

Rod is different. I have a 97 dual booster now and swapped the rod. I lost vacume boost. :( Once my bracket comes from my friend in TN I'll be able to start it and see if I fixed the vacume boost problem. I'll probalby have to pull the booster and see if I can fixe what I broke. If I cannot it'd be nice to have a 96 bosster that will bolt into the older xj's sitting on the shelf. ;) I think they show 2 96's on the site. Just don't know what all has been stripped. Thanks.

You're in luck!! Both the '96s have them intact.

Also found the GM caliper I was looking for. There were tons of them out there. $13 w/ warranty plus $2.06 core charge. Can't beat it.

I'm looking for a flush mounting tire carrier for 5 on 5.5. I need mainly for the lug pattern rather than drilling and placing stubs in plate myself. About a 5" standout would be perfect. Any idea what would have something like that? I doubt I'll make it there this week.

XJ savage

Going there today. Looking for tire carrier and tube door material. I'm half way tempted to snag a newer model XJ header panel if it's black.

I got the brake boosters I needed yesterday afternoon. There was a black 97 up xj there but It had front end damage. There was a 99 on the lisst but I did not go look for it. There is a whit 95 2 door there that had font end damage and was mostly stripped. All the glass was there though.

XJ savage
05-29-2011, 09:13 AM
Yeah, the '97 is smashed. I'm here now. I was just talking junk to Brian about it being a black one how I'd rob the fenders and grill and put it on mine.

I was there yesterday they had 2 grands come in and put down. I spy another yota 4x4 in the staging area, it may be in the lot now. I may have to go backand get some mroe stuf.

XJ savage

What year is the Toyota you saw Dan?

BTW, I counted at least 3 SRW full float 14 bolts out there. There's very little in the MOPAR section right now. I guess it's about time they weeded some out considering the same ones have been out there since last Thanksgiving.

My brother said there was a samurai in the staging area last weekend. It doesn't show on the inventory yet, but if anybody is there over the weekend let me know how complete it is and if it has any good aftermarket parts.

BTW... There's a late 80's lime green YJ out there right now. Spotted it a few days ago. Nothing left on it really. The rust is bad and has been wrecked on driver side. Still had leafs and axles though.

if you get a jeep tub, build your own frame, the stock frames are way overkill for a jeep tub trailer.

The pull a part in rockhill had 3 YJs when i was there a few years back, thats where I got the tub for our jeep tub trailer.

I'm not sure if it's still there, but there was a burned 1998 XJ on row 201. I took the auto trans, but I stashed the T-case in the back of a van. The van was located on the row that the XJ was facing. The back hatch of the van was locked, so I had to hoist it over the seat to get it back there. I wasn't trying to save it for myself, I just thought the charred and stripped XJ would see the crusher soon. It would be a shame to see a good 231J go to waste.

I'm not sure if anyone is looking, but they have a Wagoneer with a D44 still hanging underneath the rear. The front was LP though. The YJ tub is still there, and it looks as though the rear half is good enough for a trailer. There was a lot more cool stuff there than the last time I made it out. I'm guessing the heat is driving away those who don't truly need parts.

Anyone notice how they went up to $2? Not complaining, it's still cheaper than going to the movies.

I walked out of there yesterday with an entire XJ center console, including a newer model shifter handle (pimpin'), a factory mopar cup holder that bolts down over the E-brake shifter, transmission shifter slide with gear indicators that I can actually read, plus a bunch of miscellaneous bling-bling for less than $6.

Ta da!! I've been trying to find one of these for years!! :la:

I don't know. It's kinda dumb.

My guess is that prices are going to be adjusted after they collect enough info about what we buy.

AMCfan
08-14-2011, 05:39 PM
Actually, from what I understand the VIP card will eventually have more features but the immediate benefit will be that when admission finally goes up to $2 you'll still be able to enter the yards for $1. And, much like many parts stores do now, the VIP card will allow you to keep track of warranties. Say, if you buy a part and buy the warranty, Pull a Part will use the VIP card to store that information so you won't have to keep track of the paper invoice.
I've also been in contact with some of the PAP "peeps" that tell me if you have suggestions as to what the VIP card could eventually do for customers to post suggestions on the official Pull a Part Facebook page.

And no, I'm not a Pull a Part employee trying to shill the place. I'm just a customer and fan just like many of you are. I've been a loyal customer of theirs ever since they first opened up their Norcross GA store in 1997 or thereabouts.

Went to PullaPart yesterday to clear my head. I got a nice set of WARN hubs from a Commando and a turn signal switch from that Willys Wagon. Poor vehicles, the Wagon was stripped good and the Jeepster was beat to hell, and it was a 4cyl which is kind of rare. Looks like alot of XJs in there again. And a Military Dodge Power Ram with 1 ton axles intact. Not the most sought after axles but they could be good for a low busget rig.

XJ savage
11-09-2011, 09:26 AM
I might end up there todaay after work. I saw that Power wagon you're talking about. Its actually a 3/4 ton w/ 44 front, 70 rear, and I believe to be 4.56 gears. If only the front 8 lug hubs were locking type I'd snag 'em. Throw a cucv detroit locked 14 bolt in the back of my rig, 8 lug convert the front and be wheeling a 1/4 ton beefier on the cheap! :flipoff2:

found a 79 Jeep J-10 at pull a part last week in mid resto. frame/axles sanded and painted, body straight, doors look reproduction or just really straight, inner fenders, bumper, grill, etc. in the bed. I did get the tailgate for shop art though. hate to see this one get crushed and figured someone might bet some good parts off of it. not a J-10 fan and dont need waggy 44s but wish I could have bought the whole thing to save it from the crusher. figured someone might be interested. did get some pics I'll add up if someone wants them.

its about 5 inches wider than mine, i'm going to say its a widetrack, but i'm not up on my j truck lingo.

07-27-2012, 03:48 PM
jtrucks are all widetracs and should be same as a widetrac cherokee front axle of similar year. Drumbrake front stubs will be different than disk brake stubs.

07-27-2012, 03:54 PM
are you running a widetrack axle or narrowtrack?

Are there different widths in a j10? I never knew exactly what mine was until I got another complete axle from a j10 and it was the same...

Still haven't found an exact match for the rear.

After a few minutes of searching (curiosity was killing me): http://www.greatlakes4x4.com/showthread.php?t=1461
So the J10 44's are 63.3" track width according to this. Much more desirable axle swap for a Jeep since it's wider. Tougher to find shafts for though.

Thats cool. I never knew that.

I pulled the shafts from the '79 J10. I can't believe that thing is in there. I didn't think to snap pictures, but it has been frame off, floor pans repaired, sprayed primer white, the frame has been sprayed black, the front axle was fresh rebuild (fluid was brand new)... It's a shame.

There are two later model J10's that are driver drop 44's. One of them had a centered 44 rear, the other I don't know what the axle was.

Anyone around Augusta that would be going to pull a part any time soon? They list a 1995 Geo Tracker. I need to know if it is a 16 Valve motor and if it still has the injector harness and EGR on it. There's also one in Knoxville, so I may be making a side trip while we're at Windrock...

LBarr2002
08-26-2012, 04:40 PM
Got incredibly lucky today. DJ and I rode to Augusta to check out the 1995 Tracker. When we got to the row it was on, about 20 cars down from the center isle had been taken to the crusher and it was the next one in line. For some reason they stopped at it and started from the other end of the row. There were only 4 cars left on the other side of it. 15 more minutes and it would have been gone.

The EGR valve had already been removed and was sitting on the intake! All I did was pull the injector harness connectors and I've got everything I need, I couldn't believe it. This is one of only two 95 trackers/sidekicks in all the PAP's in the southeast (other is in Knoxville), and '95 is the only year with the part I need. Someone had cut the fast idle switch plug off the harness, but I've already replaced that with the one from my harness and swapped the wiring over. Waiting on an EGR gasket from Autozone and it will back together with the right parts and hopefully no CEL!

The one on the right is off of my motor, the '97, with no temp sensor. The '95 is on the left.

I kinda doubt i'll be going there but last time I checked there, it was a newer model on the lot.

I checked the site and they show 2 98's and an '01 on the lot. Maybe a Sunday drive is in order this weekend.... ugh. I hate that I dont have a gas sipper.

Is there more then one in Columbia? If you go to that one I am thinking about heading over on Sunday. Can you look and see if either of those have a good front bumper?

I'm not sure if we are going to that one or the Augusta one.

Can anyone suggest good pull-a-part yards not far from Clemson? Especially interested in ones that can have Chevy Trackers in stock. Thanks.

there is a pull a part in rock hill and one in charlotte as well. although they are not really close. Might be more cost effective if you are wanting something 4wd to sell the current tracker and buy a 4wd.

I was there Saturday and got the bumper I needed... Went to see if they had one on the way to Aiken. Wouldn't you know it they did. I had not tools. A guy trying to puleld some wheels on a chevy next to it let me borrow a wrench and I got it.
