Ford 8.8 bracket kit

#1
Does anyone know where to get a bracket kit for a ford 8.8. I have a jeep TJ so it should be fairly easy to find. The ones i have found are insanely expensive like $225-350. I have talked with some people who work in the machine shop at work and they say that the materials only cost about $50-$75. If anyone knows of a better price or knows how to make the brackets, and out of decent materials PM if you can.

I have built 10 plus 8.8s and used a number of different bracket kits. The best and easiest on the market these days is ARTECs truss kit, but its not the cheapest.

A few years back Mad4wd had the best deal on bracket kits for $150, but they are more now. $199

The materials may only cost $75, but it takes considerable time to press break all of those parts.

My first 8.8 swap I did on my jeep I used stock d35 brackets cut off and rewleded to the 8.8. It worked, but the aftermarket brackets eliminate the problem of ripped brackets.

You're also paying for the design and engineering to make the job easier. Sure you could buy $50 of plate and do it, but it would take days.

I agree, especially that artec kit, it makes the swap too easy! Every d35 should be scrapped for what you can put an 8.8 in for with the artec brackets.

If you figure in your time and the amount of beer you will drink while cutting out a half *** looking truss the $225 is cheap IMO.
