2008 JKUR Rebuild

One of our GenRight Ambassadors in NC recently added a bunch of GenRight parts to his Jeep. He did a good job of taking pics so we thought we'd share his rebuild with you.

He started off with a 2008 JKUR with AEV front and rear numpers, AEV tire carrier, some homemade steel sliders and a 4: Teraflex Lift.

As you can see, Chris also added new headlights, new Spider taillights, new Raceline Monster Beadlocks and new Master Pull winch line. With the new fenders, he was able to install a set of 3" Teraflex springs which actually lowered the Jeep by 2". He says the Jeep handles, brakes and accelerates better due to the lower COG and the reduced weight. It's winter in NC so he hasn't had a chance to do any real world testing but it looks like he should have even more tire clearance than before, even though his Jeep is 2' lower. Obviousl;y, he lost a little clearance on the belly.

any idea why he chose to mount the spare back on the tailgate?
Are you asking why he chose the TF tire carrier versus the GenRight one?

We talked about that. His Jeep BARELY fits in his garage length wise and he was concerned that the GenRight carrier stands out a little farther and has the hoop on it. He thought it may prevent him from closing his garage door.

PS I looked at the pics again and it's not clear. He's running the Teraflex adjustable rear tire carrier. It looks like it could be a stock carrier in the pics and that would be very bad for his tailgate. He should be good with the TF carrier.

yeah, I was wondering why he had put it back on the tailgate instead of using the GR mount, but now I see that he used a teraflex mount and hinges on the tailgate. Thanks for the clarification.
