Geocaching, Tubing and riding the backroads

#1
Went out this weekend for a little adventure with some members of the MidCarolina Jeepers. Had a really fun time grabbing some offroad Geocaches friday with greg.

Greg testing the water. We thought this was a really deep mudhole and had been wondering if we could skirt around it or not. Turns out it was nothing.

Greg had to winch me up this little slope coming out of one of the creek crossings...ATs and a trailer anchor weren't working for me.

We stopped by an old bridge to get a cache. I forgot to take a pic of the actual bridge.

We found 6 of the caches friday then met up with Larry, Burgundy, Tripp and Becky to have some burgers at the beacon in Spartanburg. We also checked out the local car show there and had a good time. After hanging out for a while we headed up to Wilderness Cove Campground to setup camp. Saturday was spent lounging on the river till around 2 then we went to Green River BBQ for some lunch and hung out in downtown saluda for a while. Found another geocache while we were in the town park.

Then Larry, Greg and I went for a hike up the trail next to the green river to check out an Earth Cache at a Huge rock on the green. Made for a fun afternoon hike. Then we came back and hung out at camp.

This hole was about 20ft deep and just churning at the bottom. Dont want to fall in there!

A bird built a nest under the RTT while it was setup, they tried to build it in the tent when we left the door open for a few hours but we threw the stuff out. Then they rebuilt it under the overhang....

Had a good time, I know Tripp got a ton of pics from the river, and I think Greg got some as well. I apologize for how crappy some of these are as all of them are from my cell phone.

We decided we should at least hang on to the Cooler as we are floating down stream.
Also set the camera to Time lapse mode (mounted it to the handle of my Yeti) to take one shot every min, This is just one of the may I have of greg while he was manning the cooler.

He managed to get good at estimating when it was going to snap the next photo and got this one of myself and the GF.

There were some pretty cool hill climbs and rocks in the river at Carver Mill. A much bigger set of trails than I expected. After leaving there, i put my phone away and didn't touch it all weekend. So no pictures from me in NC.
