TJ Clock Spring

#2
My horn and radio quit working so I started looking up to see why. Alot of google searches said that a malfuctioning clock spring will make both of those not work along with the airbag. The airbag light has been on in the Jeep for a while. I don't care anything about the airbag, just want my horn and radio to work. Anyone ever had a clock spring go bad?

My airbag light will come on intermittently sometimes when its damp or raining.

Tucker (shilosho) has replaced his I think.

My air bag light has been on for a few years. My '97 doesn't have radio controls on the steering so my radio isn't affected. My horn quit the same time the airbag light came on. I just have neglected the fix of the clock spring because it's $100-200 for the new spring assembly.

Edit: $200 looks like the going rate......DANG!

For the OE horn button to work the clock spring has to be replaced. Only other option is wire the horn to a momentary push button.
The radio can be bypassed, with a little wiring work.
The clock spring is very susceptible to moisture, and is probably the cause of most of y'all's intermittent issues with the airbag light.
