Superduty Lockout Problem

#2
This weekend my Dad tryed to put his 2004 Superduty into 4 wheel drive and it wouldn't go in. He called me and I told him to get out and lock the hubs, he had already tryed that and said one side wouldnt lock. So today I pull the lockout apart to grease, and check everything. Everything looked good on the inside so I put it back togather and its still frozen. Nothing looks broken, but just won't lock. We may just put a set of Warn Lockouts on it and be done. Anyone else had this probem?
my dad has a 99 with the auto hubs and they dont work worth a crap. You basically always have to manually lock them and then half the time they still dont lock like my warns on my 44. So yes, I have had that problem, if you find the solution please let me know.

Did you actually pull the gear assembly out of the lockout hub its self and the nylon piece that seats against the diaphragm? If not there is a bearing in the gear assembly that can become dry and make the hub sieze.
