Southeast Overland Synthetic Winch Line Sale

#1
The last Group Buy on Southeast Overland Amsteel Blue winch lines went pretty well so let's try another! Many people prefer synthetic winch line to steel cable because its lighter (1/7th the weight of steel), easier to handle, stretches less, recoils less and maintains less energy if it breaks so it is safer, stronger per diameter, it floats, and can be easily field repaired with a little practice.

Here is the basic dealeo.

  • The Group Buy will run until the end of June 2012.
  • All winch lines will receive a free aluminum non-offset hawse fairlead without a liner. This is a $45 value. If you want a different fairlead (offset, black, or with a liner) you just pay the difference. If you don't want a fairlead you can have a 2"x20' Made in the USA snatch strap which is a $39.95 value but currently on sale in the WEB STORE. Or, you can have 10% off your order. (I'd go with the fairlead.)
  • All orders $300 or more also receive free shipping. You can add other products that are in stock to your order to receive free shipping.
  • All orders under $300 ship for $16 flat rate on in-stock merchandise.
  • South Carolina sales tax will be charged for in-state shipments.
Winch lines can be viewed in the Southeast Overland WEB STORE or go directly to the winch line page HERE. <---- click the links

All winch lines are available in 5/16" (13,700 lbs break), 3/8" (19,600 lbs break), and 7/16" (23,900 lbs break). We stock orange, blue, and dark green in 5/16" and 3/8" along with all thimbles, hooks, abrasion guards, and other winch line and extension pieces so we can ship fast. Any 7/16" winch lines will have bulk line ordered at the end of June and assembled winch lines mailed out ASAP.

Please Note:

  • All winch lines comes with a 10' length of black abrasion guard printed 'SOUTHEAST OVERLAND' plus a 10' length of drum wrap.
  • Winch lines come with a butt splice/plain end or a spade connector for attachment to your winch drum. I simply use Gorilla Tape to tape the tail end across the drum on both sides and then a minimum of 8 wraps are needed to keep your winch line attached. This is the most universal way available to attach your synthetic line and the method I prefer.
  • Payments can be made by PayPal invoice, or credit card, or check. Checks must clear before merchandise will be mailed. All in stock orders will be spliced and ship within typically a few days.
  • Custom splicing, lengths, and diameters are available.

just wanted to let yall know that getting the bolts through the fairlead on my 8274 was not easy because the bolts are bigger than the others since that is how the winch mounts. i did drill it out, but it was a real big pain tightening them down. i think i will try some allen bolts and see if those will work better.

Thanks for the feedback. Why was the fairlead hard to tighten down? AFAIK all 8274s have the same captive nut on the backside that I've always found to be easy to tighten down - just have to get the first thread started.

I'll look into the bolt size and have the bolt holes enlarged if needed on the next batch. Can you PM me the bolt size from your 8274 so I can compare it to what Ive got?

Thanks

I would find grade 8 Allen for that application.

here ya go. after i drilled it out, it was a pain in the *** to tighten it with a socket. i then pulled out the impact socket and the impact and impacted it in, but i still feel like it could be tighter. i cant remember the bolt size... but i know that it was the same size as what it came with. i wanna say it was just a step up from the size that the hole was originally drilled for. but as whit said and mentioned to me earlier a grade 8 allen would do the trick i think.

A 3/8" bolt fits perfect and is what I use on my Warn M8000. I will be adding an option early this week to have hardware included with the fairleads for a few dollars. It won't be Grade 8 but should work for most non feet forward installations.

I'm not clear on why you feel you can't get the bolt and nut tight enough if you can get a socket on the front and a wrench to the back if the nut is not captive (I think the nut willl be captive.)

If problems ever arise with any gear sold by Southeast Overland then give us a call, PM, or email and we will work with you to fix what is wrong. It might be best to take this to a new thread as to not clutter up a sale thread.

The square nuts on an 8274 are not the same as on a medium frame winch.
The hardware will be for most applications but not for feet forward applications. As you know meaders (but others might not) in non feet forward applications the fairlead bolts only secure the fairlead. On feet forward applications the fairlead bolts often also secure the fairlead.

I don't have silver in stock but I can order it for you tomorrow for $10 more or wait until the end of the month and there won't be an extra charge as I'll make one bulk order then. Let me know if either options work. Thanks!
