Anyone want to try this?

Thats down towards my neck of the woods! Just make sure you pay attention. You can get turned around in there so fast and not know which way is which. Defiantly a cool place to paddle though, especially if the water is up some.

Yeah, right now the water is up to about a normal level. I've never taken this trail but I'm very familiar with several other trails in Santee. I try to go as often as possible to get familiar with it but it's freakin' huge! Usually I go to Lowfalls landing and take the river upstream and enter the swamp that way, but Sparkleberry landing is in the heart of all the good stuff. When I was a kid my dad showed me a way to navigate from Sparkleberry landing all the way up to the Wateree River which took an entire day to do in a boat just to get to point A. Much exploring to be done here!

LOL!! I'm sure you could. This wouldn't be the place to have one though. The weight of a battery, motor and gear is a little heavier than you'd want in the boat with you. There's times you'll be in only 5" of water so you'll be paddling anyways.

Did some scouting over the last 24 hours to find a decent route to the Congaree river and decided to camp next to the river mouth. Awesome spot that's been already established outfitted with makeshift picnic tables and a water pale with easy access to the swamp. Perfect for a large group and took about 3 1/2 hours of paddling to get too from the Sparkleberry boat landing.
