Driveshaft hitting Skid

Got up under the Jeep today (2002 Jeep Wrangler) to inspect and see if the ride yesterday had any adverse affect. Everything looked good but I noticed one odd thing. This:

This is a picture of a mark going around my front driveshaft. It appears to be hitting my skid plate (stock skid plate) when the front axle droops. It hasn't dented the driveshaft. It appears to be just scratches. But obviously not a good thing.

Is this common? What is the solution?

I made a cut out of my skid plate to fix that when I had a stock skidplate. I used a 2.5" or 3" hole saw at the end and then connected the edges with an angle grinder. I used the hole saw so it would look better, i'm sure you could make a square hole too.
